Who was in it and who was on each side:
Germany: Decalred war on Russia
Italy: Allied to Germany and Austria-Hungary
Austria-Hungry: Declared war on Serbia
Britan: Allied to France, Declared war on Germany
France: Bound by a treaty with Russia, declared war on Germany
Russia: Bound by treaty to Serbia, announced mobilisation of its army in defence
Australia: Allied with Britain
India: Allied with Britian
New Zeland: Allied with Britain
Union of South Africa: Allied with Britian
Japan:Honoring a military agreement, declared war on Germany
Italy:Allied with both Germany and Austria-Hungry
United States of Amarica:First Declared Absolut Nutrality, until 1917 when forced to enter against Germany
Where did this war take place: Well... it was a "World War" but for the most part this war was in Eroupe.
How was the war fought: The armys were equipped with standard wepons like riffles with a bayonet. Some however, had the then newer machine guns. There were tanks, planes, and posion gas as well.
What were the casualties like: 37 million
How many killed: 8.5 million
Wounded: 21 million
Was this war conroversal: In the size of contrys, yes. There were many treaties involed.
How did it end: On November 11th 1918 at 11pm the war was over, the Treaty of Versailles was signed.
